Intro to Clay (Tues or Wed nights)
Intro to Clay – April-May 2013 – Tues night Register Now
This class is geared toward those with little to no experience, but open to all levels.
Try your hand at a variety of clay techniques, and learn the basics of handbuilding and throwing. You will learn to center the clay on the wheel as you begin to throw the basic forms and learn to trim.
Handbuilding projects might include techniques such as pinch, coil and slab built forms. Surface decoration and glazing techniques will also be covered.
By the end of the class, students will have gained a better understanding of the ceramic medium.
Beginning students should plan to purchase a clay tool kit (estimated cost $15).
6 week course – 2.5 hrs/class – $225
