Kevin Waller, the founder of The Clay Underground LLC, has been a member and supporter of the SF arts community for over 20 years.
Located in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district, The Clay Underground is committed to providing the very best work space for all of our artists. We provide local artists an affordable place to work in a supportive and exciting clay community.
We are equipped with Shimpo potter’s wheels, a Brent slab roller and extruder for all members and ample space for hand-building.
Our electric kilns fire mid-range cone 5/6. We offer a wide selection of in-house studio glazes. Everything you need to have the ultimate clay experience.

Classes and outreach programs are geared to all levels of interest and proficiency – both wheel and hand building — with beginning and continuing class cycles offered every 6 weeks.
Classes for kids will start in Jan 2014.
